July 2025 at Jazz Attack | Philly Lindy Hop & Swing Dance Events

Hey Philly! Looking for great live jazz music or just a fun Thursday night out? You're in the right place! We offer multiple levels of Lindy Hop & Swing Dance lessons -- no partner or experience required -- followed by a social dance party to the city's best swing DJs, plus a live band on July 10th! All Thursday night swing dance events are held at our new venue -- 1336 Spring Garden St, Philadelphia, PA 19123



July 10th: LIVE BAND -- Chris Oatts & the Elling-Tones

8-9pm: 

Lindy 101 Lesson: Intro to Lindy Hop & Jazz with Kate Holden & Max VerNooy

Swingouts Monthly Series Week 1 with Alyssa Hernández & Mike McDermott

Dive deep into Lindy Hop's most iconic move, along with variations and styling. A great swingout is a must-have move for any Lindy Hopper, so come level yours up this month! Series passes come with consistent teachers & students for rapid progress, detailed video recaps (great for review or if you miss a week), 7:30pm practice space access, & a discount on the next series. Students should feel confident with Lindy 101 material

Band Night Bal Lesson (all levels welcome!): Beginner Balboa with Lauren Levey & Connor Cole

Balboa, one of Lindy's sister styles, is great for cozy dancing, crowded floors, and low-impact movement, plus it's just fun! Com learn some crossovers and out & in variations

9-11pm: Social dance with LIVE BAND: Chris Oatts & the Elling-Tones

Pricing: $15 / $10 for students (Lindy101 included) | +$5 / +$3 students for Bal Class | Monthly series: $75 general / $49 students


July 17th:

8-9pm: 

Lindy 101 Lesson: Intro to Lindy Hop & Jazz with Ericka Skirpan & Hank Goldenberg

Drop in any week & learn the basics of Lindy Hop and a few solo jazz moves in this beginner-oriented class. This class will have some overlapping and some new elements every week, and we recommend taking it multiple times before advancing to the topics class.

Swingouts Monthly Series Week 2 with Alyssa Hernández & Mike McDermott

See details under wk 1; Students may join week 2, but are expected to review the week 1 recap & arrive to class early to review

9-11pm: Social dance with DJ Tommy Darlington

Pricing: $10 / $7 for students (Lindy101 included)

July 24th:

8-9pm: 

Lindy 101 Lesson: Intro to Lindy Hop & Jazz with Rachael Keneipp & Steven Fox

Drop in any week & learn the basics of Lindy Hop and a few solo jazz moves in this beginner-oriented class. This class will have some overlapping and some new elements every week, and we recommend taking it multiple times before advancing to the topics class.

Swingouts Monthly Series Week 3 with Alyssa Hernández & Mike McDermott

Series are not drop in friendly, but stay tuned for the August series!

9-11pm: Social dance with DJ Akshay Madhukar

Pricing: $10 / $7 for students (Lindy101 included)


July 31st:

8-9pm: 

Lindy 101 Lesson: Intro to Lindy Hop & Jazz

Drop in any week & learn the basics of Lindy Hop and a few solo jazz moves in this beginner-oriented class. This class will have some overlapping and some new elements every week, and we recommend taking it multiple times before advancing to the topics class.

Lindy Hop and jazz have a have a culturally rich history dating back over 100 years. Born of the artistry and innovation of Black dancers and musicians, and passed down orally and physically through generations, we take great care in sharing this art form in a way that is true to these sounds, styles, and values while encouraging the innovation that is hallmark of all Black social dances.
