4 Days, 3 Bands, 2 Cities, 1 Unstoppable Event
Jazz Town, formerly Mob Attack Jazz Town, was started in 2023 as the significantly sleep-deprived brainchild of two of Jazz Attack's organizers, Kate & Mike. The idea was simple: Four days of live music & dancing brought to you by two of the powerhouse Lindy Hop cities of the East Coast, with social hangs abound, plus friendly inter-city competitions as the cherry on top. Yep, an old school exchange with a new twist!
Years one to three brought together over 400 dancers each, and while we're aiming to crack 500 in 2026, we're more focused on putting together something special for the residents of our two cities, plus the friends that join from afar to feel a bit of the magic.

Frequently Asked Questions:
Are all dances a la carte, or can I buy a ticket to all of the dances at once?
This year we are offering the option to purchase a pass to all of the Philly Jazz Town events. This does not include the Friday dance in Baltimore but it does include the rest of the event. Baltimore will be $20 at the door, there are no pre-sold tickets. We know it's a little odd, but since it's a collection of coordinated events run by 3 groups with different legal structures this is how we have to do it. Thanks for your understanding! Please note again that Friday night's dance only sells tickets at the door, and Sunday is free & does not require any tickets!
Are these dances likely to sell out?
Several of them, yes. Thursday and Friday will sell out. Saturday main will likely have tickets available at the door. Saturday late night is unlikely to sell out. Sunday afternoon is free. Note that several events have separate early bird and day-of pricing, so get those tickets in advance to save!

Do I need a a partner or prior experience to attend?
No! Thursday, Friday, and Saturday's main dances all include a beginner Lindy Hop lesson -- no partner or experience required. Come with friends, or get ready to make new ones!
What should I wear?
Comfortable, flat-bottomed shoes for dancing. For the live band nights we recommend dressing up in something that makes you feel fabulous, doesn't significantly restrict your movement, and isn't too stifling hot.
Can I compete?
Yes! On Thursday Jazz Attack has a friendly open solo jazz competition. On Friday Mobtown will be having a strictly competition that is open to all. Saturday afternoon we'll have prelims for our open mix & match competition. Finals will be to the live band Saturday night. On Sunday partnerships can sign up day-of for Rittenhop's Open Strictly Battle Competition
