Jazz Attack offers the best Lindy Hop & Swing Dance lessons in Philadelphia -- no partner or experience required -- followed by a social dance party to the city's best swing DJs, plus a live band on April 9th! All Thursday night swing dance classes & social dance events are held at our new venue -- 1336 Spring Garden St, Philadelphia, PA 19123. All Tuesday night classes are held at the Philadelphia Ethical Society at 1906 Rittenhouse Square, Philadelphia, PA 19143.

April 7, 14, 21, 28:
6:45-8pm: Tuesday Monthly Intermediate Series: Advanced Connection & Follow-Initiated Moves
In this four week series you'll explore and heighten your sense of connection to both lead and follow with greater clarity and diversity using movements and ideas both familiar and new! We'll explore different means that both partners have to ask for support and influence the direction and momentum of the dance. Improving your connection allows you to have a more nuanced and engaging dance no matter your role!
Pre-requisites: Dancers are expected to already be able to comfortably mix 6 & 8 count movements, swing out, and dance basic solo jazz. This series is for people who have already attended several Thursday series, and are looking for a more challenging class. All series include consistent teachers & classmates for rapid progress, video recaps for review & practice, and access to our Thursday 7:30pm practice space. Tuesday series also include complimentary admission to Thursday social dances! Limit 30 students.

Lindy 101 Lesson: Intro to Lindy Hop & Jazz with Edith Zhang & Derek Weix
Drop in any week & learn the basics of Lindy Hop and a few solo jazz moves in this beginner-oriented class. This class will have some overlapping and some new elements every week, and we recommend taking it multiple times before advancing to the topics class.
Rhythm & Groove Series Week 1 with Kate Holden & Gavin Laur
What sets awesome dances apart? The ones that feel like they're one with the music! Learn how to easily predict what will come next in a tune, emphasize different parts of the music in your movements, express the beat fully, and play off of your partner's ideas -- all while keeping the flow. Pre-requisites: dancers should be familiar and comfortable with the Lindy 101 content.
All series include complimentary admission to all Thursday evening social dances this month, consistent teachers & classmates for rapid progress, video recaps for review & practice, and access to our Thursday 7:30pm practice space. $95 general / $65 Students. Limit 30 students

Band Night Shag Special Class with Juju Juthapathra & Skyler Hinkel
For dancers that already feel comfortable with Lindy, add one of its sister styles to your repertoire! Shag is an energetic and fun partner style that was danced to swingin' jazz alongside Lindy Hop. From the Savoy in NYC to the ballrooms of California, the shag was one of the most popular swing styles of the day!
