Hey Philly! Looking for a beginner dance class or just a fun Thursday night out? Maybe a new hobby for the new year? You're in the right place! Jazz Attack offers the best Lindy Hop & Swing Dance lessons in Philadelphia -- no partner or experience required -- followed by a social dance party to the city's best swing DJs, plus an incredible live jazz band on November 12th! Thursday Beginner-Friendly Swing Dance Classes & Dance Parties at 1336 Spring Garden
November 5th:
8-9pm:
Lindy 101 Lesson: Intro to Lindy Hop & Jazz with Rachael Keneipp & Griffin MacFarlane
Drop in any week & learn the basics of Lindy Hop and a few solo jazz moves in this beginner-oriented class. This class will have some overlapping and some new elements every week, and we recommend taking it multiple times before advancing to the topics class.
Level 1 Series: Partnered Charleston with Alyssa Hernández & Nick Cruickshank
Ever dance to a fast song and feel like triple steps just aren’t cutting it? This class series will show you how to kick your way to success. We’ll work from the ground up, starting with footwork and building our way up to leading and following essential Charleston shapes, so you can feel confident upping the tempo of your social dancing. This class will be a great fit if you've taken only a couple of Charleston classes, you're brand new to it, or you want to work on your secondary role! All series come with detailed video recaps, access to our 7:30pm practice space, support in our #practice discord, and consistent instructors & classmates for rapid progress
Level 2 Series: Spins & Turns with Alyssa Hernández & Nick Cruickshank
Faster, cleaner, and a whole lot more fun. Come learn how to master spins & turns at any tempo -- without getting dizzy! From pop turns to double time, to free spins and maybe even a trick or two, this is the perfect class for anyone who is comfortable with our level 1 content and looking to turn it up. All series come with detailed video recaps, access to our 7:30pm practice space, support in our #practice discord, and consistent instructors & classmates for rapid progress. This series will be held down the street at Walker Ballroom -- 1822 Spring Garden St., 3rd Floor. Everything else held at 1336 Spring Garden.

Intermediate Drop-In: Band Night Shim Sham with Kate Holden
T'aint what you do it's the way that you do it! Learn the classic "Shim Sham" line dance that the whole room breaks into after announcements. We'll cover the history behind the dance and the moves that make it so iconic.

Lindy Hop and jazz have a have a culturally rich history dating back over 100 years. Born of the artistry and innovation of Black dancers and musicians, and passed down orally and physically through generations, we take great care in sharing this art form in a way that is true to these sounds, styles, and values while encouraging the innovation that is hallmark of all Black social dances.
