Hey Philly! Ready to learn to swing dance? Looking for great live jazz music or just a fun Thursday night out in November? You're in the right place! We offer three levels of Lindy Hop & Swing Dance lessons followed by a social dance party to the city's best swing DJs, plus a live band on 12/12! If you aren't sure which class to sign up for, visit our classes page. Note that there will be no series this month, and that bonus classes are open to all.
All Thursday night swing dance events are held at the Philadelphia Ethical Society (1906 Rittenhouse Square)
December 5th: DJ Dance + Holiday Vendor Market
8-9pm:
Lindy 101 Lesson: Intro to Lindy Hop & Jazz with Lauren Fosnight & Hank Goldenberg
Drop in any week & learn the basics of Lindy Hop and a few solo jazz moves in this beginner-oriented class. This class will have some overlapping and some new elements every week, and we recommend taking it multiple times before advancing to the topics class.
Bonus Lesson (open to all!): Injury Prevention for Dancers with Special Guest Athletic Trainer & Lindy Hop Champ Kyle Seymour
Lindy hop is an athletic dance that we can enjoy for life if we take care of our bodies! Preventing Injury for Dancers will teach you the key components of injury prevention for Lindy Hoppers, taught by Kyle Seymour, a certified athletic trainer and fitness professional.
9-11pm: Social dance with Special Guest DJ Kyle Seymour

December 12th: LIVE BAND -- Jon Tigert's Corner Pocket Jazz Band | Holiday Party!
8-9pm:
Lindy 101 Lesson: Intro to Lindy Hop & Jazz with Ericka Skirpan & Nick Cruickshank Drop in any week & learn the basics of Lindy Hop and a few solo jazz moves in this beginner-oriented class. This class will have some overlapping and some new elements every week, and we recommend taking it multiple times before advancing to the topics class.
Balboa Class (open to all!): Band Nights mean Balboa with Alex & Brennan DeVoe
Elevate your Balboa with fresh moves and refined technique! This class will focus on rotational momentum, flow, and connection to expand your repertoire and bring creativity and smoothness to your social dancing.
Bonus Class (open to all!): Being a Solo Icon -- Solo Jazz with Special Guest Hana Yanello
Coming in all the way from Lancaster, join Hana in exploring some of her favorite pieces of vocabulary and discover how to express yourself in a variety of ways.
9-11pm: LIVE BAND Social dance with Jon Tigert's Corner Pocket Jazz Band
The Corner Pocket Jazz Band, Led by Jon Tigert, of Baltimore, MD, is dedicated to celebrating the swinging sounds of the 30s, 40s, and 50s.

December 19th: DJ Dance + Clothing Swap & Shoe Sueding Night
8-9pm:

Drop in any week & learn the basics of Lindy Hop and a few solo jazz moves in this beginner-oriented class. This class will have some overlapping and some new elements every week, and we recommend taking it multiple times before advancing to the topics class.
Bonus Lesson (open to all!): New Year New Shoe: Shoe Sueding Night with Will Glusman
Kick off the new year with smooth moves by transforming your favorite kicks into perfect swing shoes! Join William in an end-of-December shoe-sueding hour. Bring a pair of flat-bottomed, treadless shoes (Keds, Converse, or any basic tennis shoes) and learn how to add suede or leather soles to get you gliding effortlessly on the dance floor. Start the new year in style, with shoes ready for every swingout!
9-11pm: Social dance with DJ Kate Holden
